25th Anniversary of the Megaron Organ

A Christmas recital featuring 6,000 pipes is presented at the Athens Concert Hall on Sunday 23 December 2018.

The inauguration of the Megaron organ in Christmas 1993 opened up new possibilities for music evens: concerts, festivals, invitations to international artists; it also enabled training the first organists in Greece, who have gone onto international careers as soloists. Among them, Ourania Gassiou: The organist of the Megaron and the French Protestant Church in London presents a programme featuring major works by classical and contemporary composers, showcasing the expansive palette of the king of instruments.

Works by Felix Mendelssohn, Johann Sebastian Bach, Olivier Messiaen, Eugène Gigout, Marco Enrico Bossi.
