George Condo exhibition at the Cycladic Art Museum

The Cycladic Art Museum in Athens will be hosting between early June and mid-October 2018 the first ever in Greece major solo museum exhibition of world famous American artist George Condo, titled “George Condo at Cycladic”.

The exhibition “George Condo at Cycladic” is part of the contemporary art program of the Museum of Cycladic Art and includes paintings, sculptures and drawings spanning across the 40 year career of famous American artist, George Condo. More specifically, the exhibition will be showcasing some of the artist’s best work examples that focus on the human figure; an ongoing theme of the MCA’s curated contemporary program.

George Condo – together with Jean-Michel Basquiat, Keith Haring and Jeff Koons – has been instrumental in the revival of figuration in American art back in the 1980s and still remains one of the most important American figurative sculptors and painters to this day. Ηis paintings are displayed at world famous museums, among which The Metropolitan Museum of Art and The Museum of Modern Art and in New York, Tate Gallery in London and Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris.

The exhibition is curated by Atalanti Martinou.
